Julio Borbon led off and started the rally when he laced a base-hit. Ian Kinsler stepped up next and he drew a walk. Michael Young then drew a walk to load the bases. Hamilton was up next and he ripped a single. After another out, Vladimir Guerrero stepped in and he grounded into a double play. That scoring would be all that was needed. Texas managed 9 hits in their victory.Lee(2-1) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. Wade Davis(1-2) absorbed the loss. Ron Washington was asked about the performance of Lee, ‘He had his good stuff out there this afternoon. The fans really get into it when the strikeouts start mounting up – and that seems to give him even more adrenalin.’#4. Tampa Bay 4 at Texas 2. 
David Price pitches a game as the Rays defeat the Rangers to force a fifth and deciding game back in Tampa. Price went nine innings and gave up just the two wins for the complete game victory.

Michael Young hit 2 doubles at Tropicana Field where the Texas Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 2 to 1.

Texas brought 1 run across the plate in the top of the 3rd inning with the help of 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Young doubled. Josh Hamilton came next and he stroked a one-base hit. David Murphy then would hit into a force play. Vladimir Guerrero came up and he lined a single. Both teams’ bats went to sleep after the 3rd inning with no runs scored after that point.Darren Oliver(1-1) allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Justin Morneau had 4 hits as the Minnesota Twins outscored the Oakland A’s 7 to 3.

Morneau was unconscious all evening. The Oakland fans hated to see him approaching the batter’s box as he just kept delivering base hits! He laced a single which brought home a run in the 1st inning, doubled knocking in a run in the 3rd inning, ripped a base-hit in the 5th inning and launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun in the 6th inning. Minnesota out-hit Oakland for the game, 15 hits to 10.The victory was credited to Francisco Liriano(2-0) who went 7 and 2/3 innings, allowing 3 runs. Trevor Cahill(2-1) was the loser. He got hit hard, allowing 11 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings. ‘Some days it just all comes together, and this was one of them’ Morneau said. ‘I’ve been seeing the ball pretty well lately.’
#2. Minnesota 2 at Oakland 3
One run was the difference at McAfee Coliseum as the Oakland A’s defeated the Minnesota Twins 3 to 2.Jerry Blevins(2-0) came through for Bob Geren with an excellent relief stint. He was reached for no hits and 1 walk in 2 and 2/3 innings. Minnesota threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.Andrew Bailey gained credit for his 6th save. The loss was charged to Carl Pavano(0-2). He surrendered only 3 runs and 6 hits in 8 innings.

#3. Oakland 3 at Minnesota 7

The Minnesota Twins defeated the Oakland A’s by a score of 7 to 3 at Target Field.

Minnesota scored all of the necessary runs in the 8th inning as they showed no mercy on Oakland blasting them for 5 hits and plating 7 runs. The key at-bat was by Danny Valencia who brought a roar from the partisan Target Field fans when he launched a Grand Slam homerun. Despite losing, Oakland out-hit Minnesota 13 to 9.Matt Capps(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. Capps got help from Brian Fuentes who was credited with his 1st save. Adam Wainwright reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts and Jon Jay jacked one out of the ballyard at Coors Field as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Colorado Rockies in 10 innings by the count of 4 to 3.

The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings. St. Louis ended up winning it in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Jay ripped a solo home run. St. Louis ended up with 12 hits for the game while Colorado had 8.Jason Motte(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. St. Louis took the lead for good in the bottom of the 7th inning plating 2 runs on 2 hits. Brendan Ryan led off and he drew a walk. Jaime Garcia came to the plate and laid down a sacrifice bunt. Rasmus then doubled. Aaron Miles was up next and he singled. Matt Holliday stepped into the box and grounded into a double play. Chacin(2-0) was on top of his game. He gave up just 2 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. Chacin whiffed an impressive total of 8 San Francisco batters dropping his ERA from 3.26 to 2.36. The right-handed Chacin lost a no-hitter when Juan Uribe singled with one out in the 6th inning. Colorado had 10 hits for the game and San Francisco had 3. Delmon Young connected with a ‘big fly’ and had 4 RBI at Coors Field as the Minnesota Twins, running on all cylinders, ripped the Colorado Rockies by a large 15 to 4 margin.

Young provided the offensive punch. He smashed a two-run homer in the 1st inning, doubled which brought home a run in the 7th inning and stroked a single which scored a run in the 9th inning. Minnesota provided plenty of action in the 7th inning which saw them score 4 runs on 6 hits. The Minnesota offense man-handled the Colorado pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9 innings.Kevin Slowey(2-1) allowed 4 runs in 5 innings, and picked up the victory. Colorado bats were very productive in the 2nd inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits and the 8th inning which saw them score 6 runs on 3 hits.
