Japan at Mexico

At Globe Life Park, the MEXICO faithful were treated to an intriguing
pitcher’s duel. Yu Darvish(1-0) finally bested his MEXICO counterpart,
Miguel Gonzalez(0-1), by the score of 3 to 1.

JAPAN did all of it’s offensive work in the 3rd inning scoring 3 runners on 3
hits. That was all the offense they were to need. The pitchers took over
after the 3rd inning as neither team was able to score again.

Darvish was helped out by Yoshihisa Hirano who recorded his 1st save. The
loss was charged to Gonzalez. He allowed 7 hits and no walks in 8 and 1/3
innings.
