2009 MEMORIAL CUP
2009 Memorial Cup team Cards
Rimouski hosted the 2009 Memorial Cup after they lost 4-0 to Drummondville in the Quebec League playoffs. The #1 ranked junior team in the CHL, the Windsor Spitfires were the Ontario representative. Windsor lost their first two games of the tournament but stormed back to win it. The Kelowna Rockets knocked off the powerful Calgary Hitmen and the Vancouver Giants to win the WHL crown. Kelowna eventually lost out to Windsor in the final. Some stars of tomorrow in the final were : Greg Nemisz, captain Harry Young, Taylor Hall, Ryan Ellis of Windsor and Tyler Myers, Mikael Backlund, Jamie Benn and Colin Long of Kelowna.
The cards used were created based on stats from the regular season of each of the three CHL leagues. If you would like the cards, please contact me and I can send in Microsoft Word format.
My suggestion is to play 4 lines, 3 sets of defense in the first period. 3 lines , 3 sets of def. in the second period. 3 lines and 2 sets of dmen in the third period. Note- the following players never played in the Memorial Cup Dru-DiDomenico, Rim-Ouimet. Drummondville usually dressed 11 forwards and 7 dmen (bench DiDomenico and play Hotte).
